From 14th April and Annick’s first interview by Mike Read in Brighton, to the entry of “Gravity” at N° 38 four days later, all the way to “Butterflies in June” peaking at N°13 (like “Gravity”!) on 7th August, it has been a very special ride up this British chart for us.

We will never forget the thrill of our live recording on the Brighton Pier, on June 1st, all the way to special episodes N° 10 and N° 12, when Mauritius was listed among voting countries. This exposure of our music on British television continued with a special feature during the Wimbledon fortnight (Episode N°18, which listed all the voting cities hailing from our island). Last but not least, during Episode N°20, Mike Read gave a very “Gallic” exposure of Mauritius, by showing some of the most beautiful sights from our tropical paradise!

Finally, “Butterflies in June” was last in the Top 40 on 21st August (at N° 27), a week prior to our Farewell Concert in Shere (Surrey), with Mike Read as a glamorous MC.

We will never forget the joy of having our music charting alongside star singers of our generation, like Tony Hadley, Peter Cox, Nick Kershaw, Howard Jones, The Pet Shop Boys & Marc Almond, amongst many others!

We will soon return to the Heritage Chart… PROMISE!

Until then, watch and vote, as this TV program keeps good music alive!
