The Clarisse Sisters staged a press conference at LUX* Grand Gaube this Tuesday lunchtime, to present the first single, “Papitou” from their forthcoming album. An acoustic version of the song was performed with Belingo FARO, as Musical Director for TCS, after lunch.

“Papitou” is an emblematic song of the Mauritian Sega Typik genre. It has been entirely re-orchestrated and re-arranged into a very smooth Jazzy version by Annick, Dominique and Veronique, on a backing track developed with Belingo Faro. This tribute to the Father of Sega – Alphonse RAVATON aka Ti Frere – is perfectly timely as this traditional music from the island of Mauritius has just been recognized by the international community as an official UNESCO universal intangible heritage of humanity:  https://ich.unesco.org/en/RL/traditional-mauritian-sega-01003
