Tonight, we performed for the first time ever – as The Clarisse Sisters – in London.

Toulouse Lautrec Jazz Club is an intimate venue, cocktail bar and restaurant run by the Regent brothers, in Kennington.

Nolan is the MC and sound engineer of the 2nd floor jazz club. Florent is the Chef and runs the streetside restaurant and piano bar (1st floor), with a very distinct “French touch“.

The choice for this venue for our first “acoustic performance” in London was obvious. First the venue is in the south western Central region of London, halfway between Elephant & Castle and Battersea. So, not too distant from our entry point into London (Clapham Junction) coming from the A3 and Surrey. Secondly, the Regent brothers are French, but they were born on our neighboring sister island, of Reunion, in the Indian Ocean. So, it made every sense for us to be introduced to the London jazz scene, through such a homely and familiar French venue.

We presented “Fire & Ice” with a Trio of British great musicians. Our long time partners on Basia tours, Giorgio SERCI (Guitars) and Andres LAFONE (Bass), as well as Simon LEA on drums and percussions.

A beautiful Sunday evening, that we will never forget… for the fact that ERASURE fans drove halfway down the country (from Yorkshire) or a dear BASIA fan flew from Dublin, to see us sing. It was nice to meet new fans from the British capital, who commented on the gig later on social media…
